Puritan UniTranz-RT™ Transport Systems (Universal Transport Medium)

Designed for superior ease of use and performance in the collection and transport of viral diagnostic specimens, our self-contained media transport systems deliver effective collection and release of samples. A flexible shaft aids patient comfort, and thanks to our molded break points, swabs are easily transferred into the media-filled tube for transport to the lab. Advanced design is self-contained, easy to use, and proven reliable. The see-through peel pouch ensures fast, reliable product identification. The self-centering cap is leak-resistant and facilitates easy swab removal and disposal. Universal Transport Medium is room-temperature-stable and versatile for use in collecting virus, chlamydia, mycoplasma, and ureaplasma samples.

We made a huge breakthrough in diagnostic sampling when we developed our Puritan HydraFlock® and PurFlock Ultra® flocked swabs. Puritan has been awarded both device and method patents for these flocked swabs in the United States, Canada, Eurpoe, Australia, and Japan, with patents pending in China. HydraFlock® and PurFlock Ultra® were developed by Puritan’s team of engineers using a unique proprietary process to create a flock with performance unsurpassed by the competition.  Our raw materials are carefully selected and processed in-house to ensure the most stringent QC criteria are met. HydraFlock® is designed specifically to provide higher absorption capacity when compared to other flocked swabs. Its unique microstructure of multi-length, proprietary floret structure fibers is designed to enhance rapid absorption and elution of biological specimens. A third-party test proved Puritan HydraFlock® to be better at both capture and release when tested against another brand and other fibers. Our ultra flock's purity makes it an excellent choice — ideal for PCR, molecular assays, DFA testing, forensic applications, as well as direct antigen testing. Its uniquely designed fiber structure accounts for better cell yield in the specimen where sample size is limited.

Environmental Sampling Products

Puritan’s new surface-testing environmental swab kits, created in consultation with the food production/service industry and pharmaceutical companies, are all made to offer superior absorption, release, reliability, and convenience. They are ideal for on-the-spot-testing or transport to the lab, with a list of features nobody else can match. Choose from the larger EnviroMax® or EnviroMax® Plus (premoistened) for sampling on larger surfaces. The smaller ESK Sampling Kit® includes swabs with a smaller tip to get into hard-to-reach areas of food processing equipment and machinery. Each kit incorporates a secure tube and leak-resistant cap that prevents gasification as well as spills.
